FIT STAGE is a personal training company based in Osaka. More of our clients are visitors from overseas and international residents of Kansai, so we are looking for personal trainers who can coach in English. You will mainly coach at hotels and in clients’ homes, on a freelance contract that fits around your schedule.

THE ROLE
What you’ll do
Sessions
- Mobile sessions for hotel guests visiting from overseas
- Ongoing sessions for international residents of Kansai, often at their homes
- Sessions at our studios in Esaka, Shonai and Sone-Shiroyama
Requirements
- Conversational English
- At least one year of coaching experience (less is negotiable)
- Able to work in Osaka, Hyogo or Kyoto

Questions trainers ask us
Do I need to speak Japanese?
Japanese is not required. The work we are hiring for is mainly with English-speaking clients, such as hotel guests from overseas and international residents of Kansai. Some Japanese helps for studio sessions with Japanese clients, so let us know your level when you apply.
Where are the studios?
We have three studios in northern Osaka: Esaka in Suita, and Shonai and Sone-Shiroyama in Toyonaka. Most English-language sessions take place at hotels or clients’ homes across Osaka, Hyogo and Kyoto, and we tell you the location before each booking.
How is pay calculated?
You are paid per session you coach, starting from ¥3,000 per session. The rate is set by your experience and track record. Payment is made on the 25th of each month.
Can I work part-time alongside another job?
Yes. This is a freelance contract, so you choose the days and hours you are available, between 7:00 and 23:00. You can combine it with work at another gym or a different job.
Do I need a visa to apply?
You need a residence status that allows you to work in Japan. If you are unsure whether your status covers freelance work, please mention it in your application.
Do I need experience?
We look for at least one year of experience as a personal trainer. If you have less, you are still welcome to apply, and we will consider your certifications and sports background.
